Meinl Byzance Jazz 22 Inch Symmetry Ride Cymbal

Jazz drummers searching for that perfect blend of vintage warmth and modern responsiveness will find their match in the Meinl Byzance Jazz Symmetry Ride Cymbal. This exceptional 22" ride cymbal showcases the artistry of hand–hammered B20 bronze construction, developed in collaboration with jazz legend Ralph Peterson to capture the essence of authentic jazz expression. The cymbal's thin weight and dark timbre create a full–bodied sound with complex harmonics, making it equally suited to delicate comping and energetic accents.

The refined narrow–blade lathe work combined with an abraded surface produces controlled sustain rich with overtones, allowing intricate patterns to shine through while maintaining that lush, washy presence jazz players crave. Its low pitch and complex tonal depth make it a versatile choice across jazz, funk, reggae, and world music styles, where nuanced articulation is essential. The raw finish adds to both its organic aesthetic appeal and warm sonic signature.

Key specifications include B20 bronze alloy construction, hand–hammered shaping, medium to low volume output, and medium to short sustain characteristics. The cymbal's complex, musical character combines vintage warmth with washy textures, making it responsive to every subtle touch and dynamic shift in your playing style.
