Meinl Byzance Extra Dry 18 Inch Thin Crash Cymbal

The Meinl 18" Byzance Extra Dry Thin Crash Cymbal defies expectations with its deceptively raw appearance and surprisingly nuanced performance. This exceptional cymbal features extensive hand hammering and unlathed surfaces that create an extremely dry character with low–pitched tones and trashy overtones. The soft response and remarkably fast decay make it perfect for controlled playing, while the short sustain keeps your sound tight and focused.

Despite its fierce visual appearance, the Extra Dry series truly shines when played at lower volumes, revealing dark, earthy tones that come alive with subtle dynamics. The raw, unlathed surface not only contributes to its unique sonic character but also provides a distinctive aesthetic that's sure to catch the eye on any kit.

Ideally suited for jazz, funk, R&B, and electronic music genres, this cymbal's dark, earthy, and surprisingly crisp sound ensures your playing will stand out from the crowd. The combination of trashy character and controlled response makes it an excellent choice for musicians seeking something truly different in their cymbal setup.
