Meinl Byzance 20inch Vintage Sand Ride Cymbal Benny Greb Signature

The Meinl 20" Byzance Vintage Sand Ride Cymbal stands as a testament to precision craftsmanship, offering drummers an exceptional blend of dry articulation and controlled wash that cuts through any mix. Handcrafted from premium B20 bronze alloy and meticulously hand–hammered, this cymbal produces a rich, complex tone that marries dark vintage warmth with contemporary clarity. The sandblasted top surface combined with a partially lathed bottom creates a fast decay and crisp response, making it an ideal choice for jazz, fusion, and studio applications where dynamic control is paramount.

This medium–weight ride cymbal excels in providing articulate stick definition without overwhelming overtones, thanks to its unique construction and finishing techniques. The clear, bright bell ensures rhythmic patterns cut through with ease, while the short sustain and controlled wash make it perfect for genres including pop, funk, R&B, and world music. Its distinctive sandblasted finish not only contributes to the vintage sound character but also provides an aesthetically pleasing appearance that complements any drum setup.

With its low pitch, dark timbre, and medium to low volume output, the Byzance Vintage Sand Ride offers drummers the versatility needed for both subtle pattern work and bold accent playing. The narrow blade lathe work and hand–hammered shaping contribute to its unique tonal characteristics, creating a cymbal that delivers professional–grade performance across multiple musical styles and recording environments.
