Meinl 8" Byzance Brilliant Dark Splash Cymbal

Meinl's 8" Byzance Brilliant Dark Splash brings the Turkish cymbal maker's signature hand-hammered character to a compact, fast-responding cymbal. Cast from B20 bronze alloy and finished with an unlathed dark surface, this splash delivers a dark, earthy tone with a strong, punchy attack – ideal for cutting through dense mixes or adding texture to live drum kits without washing out the pocket.

Hand-hammering creates the uneven surface geometry that defines Byzance cymbals' character, whilst the 8" size concentrates frequencies in the lower register. Sustain is deliberately short, allowing articulate responses in tight drumming contexts. The dark finish reduces brightness and pushes the fundamental tone downward, suiting players seeking warmth over shimmer. At this diameter, the splash sits comfortably between hi-hats and small crash cymbals, offering quick decay perfect for fast-paced playing or studio stacking arrangements.
