The Maton SRS808 redefines what a small-bodied acoustic guitar can achieve, producing a surprisingly full and open sound that belies its compact dimensions. Built with solid Blackwood back and sides paired with an A Grade Spruce top, this Australian-made instrument incorporates Maton's innovative bracing techniques including forward-shifted X braces and strategically positioned scallop peaks at nodal points around the soundboard to maximise top vibration.
The guitar's enhanced design features a second parallel tone bar that works alongside the scalloped bracing system to distribute load whilst reducing mass. Combined with adjusted bracing heights and a locked 15-foot radius arch on the back, these modifications create the desired plate resonance separation between top and back plates. The result is an instrument that provides rich lower frequency response alongside crisp, well-defined treble notes.
Fitted with Maton's AP5 Pro pickup system and premium appointments including Streaky Ebony fingerboard and bridge, Chrome Grover Rotomatic machine heads, and bone nut and saddle, the SRS808 comes complete with a Maton standard hardcase. The 808 body shape features a 95mm soundhole, 25.5" scale length, and satin natural finish that showcases the beautiful timber combination.
