Mapex Saturn Evo 4-piece Shell Pack - Ex Violet Burst

The Mapex Saturn Evolution Series redefines versatility with its chamber–specific design that allows unlimited combinations of shells, sizes and cross–over finishes. This 4–piece shell pack in Ex Violet Burst (SE529XEMBPZ) showcases the series’ innovative approach where all drums blend beautifully across ten new finishes that are perfectly matched on both Maple/Walnut and Birch/Walnut Hybrid shells, enabling players to choose shell material based purely on sound preference.

Revolutionary Halo mounting technology sets these toms apart through its lateral “under lug–line” suspension system. This mounting approach isolates the toms and gives the shell complete freedom to resonate naturally, producing a pure, open tone that showcases the wood’s inherent characteristics without interference from traditional mounting hardware.

The Saturn Evolution series incorporates the sophisticated Sonic Attenuation System (SAS), originally developed for Mapex’s Black Panther Design Lab series. This system categorises finishes into three distinct tonal groups: SAS–0 satin finishes preserve the natural wood tone, SAS–1 high gloss lacquers provide a slightly drier sound, while SAS–2 exotic outer ply finishes produce the driest tones in the range. The shell pack includes a 22” x 16” bass drum, 10” x 7” and 12” x 8” toms, 16” x 14” floor tom, and two tom holders.
