The Mapex Armory Series AR529SUM brings together the best of both worlds with its innovative birch and maple hybrid shell construction, creating a 5–piece jazz/rock kit that stands out in the competitive Ultramarine finish. This latest iteration of Mapex's hybrid shell concept features a 6–ply Birch/Maple/Birch construction at 7.2mm thickness, paired with the revolutionary SONIClear™ bearing edge technology that allows drumheads to sit perfectly flat for optimal head–to–shell contact and superior tonal response.

The SONIClear™ bearing edge system facilitates direct sound transmission while reducing unwanted frequencies, providing a strong fundamental pitch that makes tuning effortless, particularly at lower registers. This shell pack includes 10" and 12" stand–mounted rack toms, a 16" floor tom, 14" snare drum, and a substantial 22"x18" kick drum, with hardware and cymbals available separately.
