The legendary fuzz sound that defined rock and roll history is back, with Maestro reviving their groundbreaking Fuzz-Tone legacy through the new FZ-M pedal. Originally introduced in 1962, the Maestro Fuzz-Tone FZ-1 became the world’s first fuzz pedal and shot to fame after featuring prominently in the Rolling Stones’ 1965 hit “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”, making it an essential piece of kit for guitarists worldwide.
The new Maestro Fuzz-Tone FZ-M brings back all the sonic fury of those early units whilst adding modern versatility through its clever Mode toggle switch. This all-analogue pedal essentially gives you two pedals in one – offering both the classic FZ-1 inspired fuzz sound and a thicker, more contemporary fuzz tone to suit different musical styles and preferences.
Control is straightforward with the intuitive 3-knob layout. The Attack knob governs the amount of fuzz, whilst the Tone control lets you dial in everything from bright and raspy textures to warm and woolly tones. The Level control sets your output volume and can push well beyond unity gain when you need that extra boost. The true bypass footswitch activates LED lights in the bugles of the Maestro logo, providing clear visual confirmation when the effect is engaged.
