Mackie 802VLZ4 8-Channel Compact Analog Mixer

The Mackie VLZ4 series stands as a testament to over 25 years of mixer innovation, now enhanced with the company's flagship Onyx mic preamps for uncompromising professional audio performance. This 8-channel mixer combines Mackie's signature high-headroom/low-noise design with "Built-Like-A-Tank" construction, making it an ideal choice for studios, live venues, and broadcast applications where reliability is paramount.

At the heart of this mixer are three boutique-quality Onyx mic preamps offering an ultra-wide 60dB gain range and exceptional 128.5 dB dynamic range. The unit handles +22 dBu line inputs with extended frequency response and remarkably low distortion under 0.0007% across the 20Hz to 50kHz spectrum. Enhanced RF rejection makes it particularly well-suited for broadcast work, while phantom power support accommodates condenser microphones without compromise.

Practical features include 8 high-headroom line inputs, selectable instrument inputs on the first two channels eliminating the need for separate DI boxes, and comprehensive 3-band EQ with 80Hz, 2.5kHz, and 12kHz points. Each channel provides aux send, level, pan, and PFL solo controls, complemented by an 18 dB/octave 100Hz low-cut filter on mic channels. Additional routing flexibility comes via the ALT 3/4 stereo bus and stereo return for effects processors, while the control room/phones source matrix and high-resolution 12-segment stereo meters provide precise monitoring capabilities.

Built to withstand the rigours of professional use, the VLZ4 features sealed rotary controls that resist dust and grime, housed within a rugged steel chassis with powder-coat finish. High-visibility, high-contrast controls provide immediate visual feedback, ensuring reliable operation in any lighting condition.
