The Ludwig Breakbeats 4-Piece Compact Shell Pack in New Black Sparkle is a street–smart acoustic drum kit co–designed with Questlove to solve transport and space challenges without sacrificing tone. Its compact footprint centres on a 14x16" bass drum, 7x10" rack tom, 13x13" floor tom, and matching 5x14" wood snare, sized to fit in a taxi or cramped rehearsal space while retaining the tonal authority of a full–size kit. Seven–ply hardwood shells deliver the professional tonal range Ludwig is known for, wrapped in a New Black Sparkle finish that stands out on stage or street.

Each shell features bearing edges cut to a 45–degree angle within 1/16" from the outside edge, hand–sanded for smooth head seating and optimal resonance transfer. The 7–ply hardwood construction fuses low–end kick punch with focused tom and snare midrange, providing the harmonic complexity preferred by session players and touring drummers. The riser–mounted bass drum positions all drums within easy reach despite the unconventional sizes. Hardware and cymbals sold separately, allowing players to spec their own stands and metalwork to match gigging or recording requirements.
