The Lehle Mono Volume 90 replaces the mechanical potentiometer found in conventional volume pedals with a German-made Hall effect magnetic sensor and a premium Blackmer® VCA from the United States. The pedal moves only a magnet; distance is measured contactlessly by the Hall sensor, which then controls the voltage-controlled amplifier. This wear-free design eliminates potentiometer noise, maintains consistent input and output impedance across the entire sweep, and preserves the full frequency spectrum without the high-end damping common to traditional designs.
The internal power supply doubles the incoming voltage to 18V, delivering a total dynamic range of 110dB. Volume control spans from –92dB to 0dB, with a MIN control allowing adjustment of the minimum level from mute to 90% (–10dB), plus a GAIN control offering up to +12dB of boost. The pedal runs on low-friction high-performance polymer bearings with no mechanical transmission to other components, and tension is adjustable via a precision screw. A buffered direct output supplies tuners, DAWs, or secondary amplifiers without affecting the main signal path.
Side-mounted input and output jacks allow the pedal to sit flush on pedal steel racks without obstruction. The Hall sensor is factory-calibrated to the internal magnet and the pedal's control range, ensuring precise response throughout the throw. The contactless magnetic design means no degradation over time, and the VCA-based architecture maintains signal integrity that conventional optical sensors and resistive pots simply cannot match at extreme settings.
