Unlike conventional drum machines that restrict specific parts to bass drums or cymbals, all six parts feature identical specifications with dual layers, giving you complete freedom to assign your custom sounds without being bound by drum set conventions.

The instrument's sound creation philosophy centres on versatility and experimentation. Starting with fundamental waveforms like sine waves, sawtooth waves, and noise, the volca drum applies various modifications to produce an extensive range of percussion sounds that span from realistic to completely unique tones. You can store 16 complete kits in memory, each containing your six assigned parts plus waveguide resonator settings, with 10 factory preload kits included to get you started.

Beyond basic step recording, the sequencer supports realtime recording during playback loops, while the pattern chain function allows up to 16 sequences to connect for complex 256-step arrangements.
