At the heart of Pa5X lies the Enhanced Definition Synthesis – Expanded (EDS–XP) sound engine, featuring 24 stereo oscillators and 160 voices of polyphony that power an extensive library of high–quality sounds across multiple genres. Advanced features include Round–Robin drum performance, Smooth Sound Transition technology, and sophisticated chord recognition with Expert mode crafted around modern jazz playing styles. The fully programmable control section offers 9 buttons and 9 sliders with auxiliary strip display, while numerous assignable controllers including faders, joystick, and ribbon controller provide precise real–time sound manipulation through KORG's DNC (Defined Nuance Control) system.
