The KORG multi/poly analog modelling synthesiser brings legendary Mono/Poly DNA into the modern era with next-generation technology that combines massive analog sounds with unprecedented digital flexibility. This groundbreaking instrument features four stacked oscillators per Program, delivering the unusually rich, complex tones that made the original famous, while adding contemporary features like flexible x-mod and sync routing, round-robin oscillator triggering, and virtual voice cards for organic timbral variation.
At its core, the multi/poly offers three distinct oscillator types - Classic, Digital, and Waveshaper - each providing unique sonic characteristics from traditional analog warmth to cutting-edge wavetable synthesis. The newly redesigned filter section includes five different 4-pole self-resonating models, featuring authentic vintage filters with euphonic saturation including the M/Poly’s sweet classic sound, the Mini’s beloved ladder filter, and the Pro’s strong resonant sweeps.
The four-layer architecture allows for complex sound design possibilities, with each layer containing a complete Program that can create velocity splits, keyboard splits, or layered textures. Layer Rotate adds an innovative twist by cycling through entire Programs with each key press, while Motion Sequencing 2.0 runs individual sequences for each voice with separate timing, pitch, shape, and step sequence lanes. Combined with Kaoss Physics for hands-on modulation control and over 5,500 potential modulation targets per Performance, the multi/poly functions like a polyphonic modular system in a compact, user-friendly package.
