The Minilogue xd module brings the acclaimed four-voice polyphonic analog synthesiser to your desktop setup without compromising on the hands-on control that made the keyboard version so popular. This desktop module maintains all the same controllers as its keyboard counterpart, making it an excellent addition as a sound module for your existing keyboard or DAW whilst providing outstanding performance capabilities. The poly-chain function allows you to connect it with another minilogue xd or minilogue xd module, creating a powerful polysynth with up to eight voices total for both studio and stage applications.
At its core, the voice structure features 2VCO + MULTI ENGINE, 1VCF, 2EG, 1VCA, and 1LFO, incorporating the series’ distinctive circuits including wave shaping for overtone control and sync/ring switching. The cross modulation capabilities, two-pole filter design, and drive switch work together to produce everything from warm analog pads to fat bass sounds and crisp leads. The multi-engine serves as a third oscillator alongside the two analog VCOs, offering three different sound generators (noise, VPM, and open-source user oscillators) that expand the unit’s sonic possibilities through hybrid sound design.
The high-quality digital effects utilise 32-bit floating point DSP processing across three simultaneous effect types: modulation effects, reverb, and delay. This includes variations such as chorus, ensemble, warm tape delay, and diverse reverb options, with user effect slots available for custom programs. The customisable open-source environment provides 16 user oscillator slots and 16 user effect slots, supported by SDK development tools and dedicated librarian software for loading custom oscillators and effects shared by the community.
The 16-step sequencer stands as a major feature, with each factory preset containing embedded sequence patterns designed for performance use. Supporting both realtime and step recording, the sequencer allows direct step selection via the 16 step buttons for quick editing and improvisational performance. Motion sequence capability records up to four knob movements, adding time-varying changes that can create drum patterns or sound effects from a single program, whilst Keyboard mode converts these buttons into a playable keyboard spanning more than an octave.
