Korg miniKORG 700Sm Synthesiser w/ Soft Case

Korg's latest miniKORG 700Sm brings the legendary 1970s synthesiser into the modern era with a compact design that's 86% the size of its predecessor and weighs just 5.8kg. This slimmed-down version maintains all the features of the 2021 miniKORG 700FS whilst adding contemporary enhancements including spring reverb, pitch bend/modulation joystick, aftertouch, arpeggiator, USB connectivity, MIDI IN, and CV/GATE IN jack. These additions were made possible by modern component miniaturisation, overcoming the space limitations that constrained the original 1970s design.

The heart of the miniKORG 700Sm remains its distinctive Traveler controller system - two parallel sliders positioned below the keyboard that provide real-time filter control. The upper slider manages the low-pass filter whilst the lower controls the high-pass filter, allowing players to sculpt the sound's character through slider positioning. Moving these controls during performance creates the signature "travelling" wah-wah and muted effects that defined the original instrument's sound palette.

Based on the enhanced 700S model from 1974, the Sm features dual oscillators that produce thick, detuned sounds perfect for contemporary bass and lead applications. The original design cleverly prevented the filter sliders from crossing - which would theoretically silence the output - through physical protrusions that maintained proper frequency relationships.
