Korg Krome EX 88 Workstation Keyboard

The KROME EX represents a bold evolution of Korg's best-selling workstation, completely reimagined to meet the demands of today's rapidly changing music landscape. This major refresh places special emphasis on immediately usable sounds that fit seamlessly into modern productions, combining timeless classics with cutting-edge contemporary programs and PCM data specifically crafted for this instrument.

At the heart of KROME EX lies a comprehensive sound library that addresses the global music scene's current needs. The instrument features rich, effect-laden polyphonic sounds perfect for EDM production, crisp synth leads, and punchy drum kits designed to move listeners. Beyond electronic sounds, the workstation includes ethnic instruments like steel pan, kalimba, and kokyu, plus Hollywood-style sound effects commonly used in trailers and commercials. Three meticulously sampled electric piano types utilise eight velocity levels and generous PCM memory allocation, with one electric piano containing more sample data than entire sound libraries of typical synthesizers.

The drum section showcases over 2,500 samples powering 48 preload kits, including the standout "Jazz Ambience Drums" kit that takes full advantage of the high-capacity PCM memory. This kit allows precise control over the mix balance between direct microphone placement and ambient room resonance, creating rich, characterful drum sounds. The comprehensive 16-track sequencer includes Auto Song Setup for instant recording, Template Songs with pre-routed effects for specific genres, KORG's Cue List for rapid arrangements, and RPPR (Realtime Pattern/Play Recording) functionality, all supported by convenient piano-roll editing capabilities.
