Korg KR-11 Compact Rhythm Box

The KR-11 compact rhythm machine carries forward the legendary Korg Doncamatic legacy from 1963, bringing modern functionality to musicians who demand portability without compromising on features. This battery-powered unit offers 9 distinct genres, each containing 14 variations for a total of 126 built-in patterns, plus 14 user slots for storing your own custom creations. From fundamental 8-beat and 16-beat patterns to specialised styles like Blues/R&B and Country for guitarists, plus ‘Island’ patterns perfect for ukulele players, the KR-11 caters to diverse musical needs.

Beyond standard patterns, the KR-11 includes complex five- and seven-beat rhythms alongside traditional three-beat options, with a swing function that adds further variation to each pattern. The built-in metronome function makes it invaluable for practice sessions, while the 16 velocity-sensitive pads provide an authentic finger drumming experience with sounds including bass drum, snare, hi-hat, and cymbals. The newly developed speaker system incorporates Acoustage Bass technology for deep, natural bass drum reproduction, though headphone/line-out connectivity allows connection to PA systems, mixers, or amplifiers.

An optional pedal switch enables hands-free operation for start/stop, pattern changes, and fill-ins during pattern play mode, or can trigger specific drum sounds in Pad Play mode with bass drum and hi-hat pre-assigned. The compact, lightweight design with built-in speakers makes the KR-11 ideal for street performances, outdoor sessions, or any location where portability is essential, whilst still providing the professional features that guitarists, bassists, keyboardists, and orchestral players require for serious practice and performance.
