The K&K Sound UltraPure Western Mini brings professional acoustic amplification to steel–string guitars through a three–sensor transducer design paired with an active preamp. Engineered specifically for western–style instruments, this system captures string vibration directly at the bridge for high&fidelity reproduction. The active circuitry provides low–impedance output that drives long cable runs and mixer inputs without signal degradation, addressing the primary challenge faced by passive pickup systems in live and studio environments.
Three individual piezo transducers mount beneath the bridge saddle, each voiced to respond accurately across the full frequency spectrum of steel strings. The compact preamp houses a high–headroom buffer circuit powered by a standard 9V battery, maintaining consistent output levels even as battery voltage drops. Output impedance sits below 1k ohm, ensuring compatibility with standard guitar amplifiers, PA systems, and recording interfaces. The mini footprint allows discreet installation inside the soundhole area or endpin jack cavity without requiring body modifications beyond standard endpin drilling.
