The JBL 705P redefines what’s possible from a compact studio monitor, bringing flagship-level performance to critical recording, post-production and broadcast environments. This self-powered reference monitor incorporates the same patent-pending driver technologies and renowned Image Control Waveguide found in JBL’s premium 708P and flagship M2 models, yet maintains a smaller footprint perfect for space-conscious studios. Despite its compact dimensions, the 705P produces remarkable output levels that surpass existing monitors of comparable size, enabling greater dynamic range and extended working distances.

At the heart of the 705P lies next-generation JBL driver technology that sets new standards for accuracy and performance. The 2409H high-frequency compression driver features an innovative low-mass annular diaphragm that maintains smooth response beyond 36 kHz with exceptionally low distortion. Complementing this is the 725G low-frequency transducer, which provides 14mm peak-to-peak excursion with superior linearity, producing outstanding low-frequency output down to 39 Hz. The patent-pending Image Control Waveguide creates an acoustically seamless transition between drivers, ensuring detailed soundstage reproduction and precise imaging across the complete frequency spectrum.

The built-in dual amplification system optimises performance with dedicated 250W amplifiers for both the high and low-frequency transducers. This powerful combination enables exceptional output capabilities and supports greater listening distances, making the 705P ideal for mastering and post-production work. Comprehensive room equalisation features include twelve bands of Room EQ to compensate for acoustic challenges, plus eight bands of User EQ for customised response curves including X-Curve and screen-loss compensation. Additional features include user-enabled digital delay for virtual speaker alignment and AV synchronisation delay to address video display latency.

Connectivity options include both analogue and digital inputs with AES/EBU digital connections supporting sample rates up to 192 kHz, ensuring compatibility with digital audio workstations, mixing consoles and professional playback hardware. Internal sample rate converters accommodate uncommon sample rates, providing flexibility for diverse production environments and maintaining the pristine signal integrity that professionals demand.
