The JBL KX190 is a professional-grade digital processor engineered for karaoke and integrated audio systems, drawing on JBL's decade-plus expertise in KTV hardware and 75 years of loudspeaker design. Built around a high-performance 32-bit/40-bit floating-point DSP engine, it handles both vocals and music with dedicated signal processing, independent echo and reverb engines, and seamless integration with JBL Professional speakers, Crown amplifiers, and wireless microphone systems.
The unit accepts three unbalanced 1/4" microphone inputs, each with 15-band parametric EQ and three-tier feedback inhibition, alongside RCA and optical connectors for music sources. Output spans six channels–stereo mains, centre, surround pair, and subwoofer–with tailored EQ: 10-band for left and right, 7-band for surround and centre, 5-band for sub. A 24-bit/48 kHz analogue-to-digital converter achieves greater than 100 dB dynamic range and sub-0.06% THD+N across the 20 Hz to 20 kHz band. Compressors sit on all output channels, while PC-based GUI software provides 15 factory presets tuned to JBL speakers and microphones, plus storage for up to 16 custom configurations.
This processor suits performance venues, recording studios with live recording workflows, and semi-professional installations where separate control of instrument and vocal chains matters. The high-level input stage accommodates DJ mixers and electronic instruments alongside traditional balanced sources, whilst independent recording channels enable dual-track capture. Dimensions of 485 × 205 × 47 mm and 2.8 kg weight make it rack-friendly without dominating space.
