Developed in close collaboration with legendary classical harmonicist Tommy Reilly, the Hohner Silver Concerto chromatic harmonica is individually made to order with a body and cover plates fabricated entirely from solid 925 sterling silver. This premium construction delivers exceptional purity of tone and dynamic range demanded by classical repertoire, whether performed in intimate chamber settings or full orchestral contexts. The sterling silver comb combines with extra thick 1.2mm nickel-plated brass reed plates to produce a bright, powerful sound with the tonal clarity required for nuanced classical expression.
The redesigned three-piece mouthpiece features round channel openings optimised for fast articulation and precision phrasing. A closed side design opposite the new slide button minimises air loss whilst ensuring silent slide operation during performance. Specially designed solid silver cover plates incorporate strategic sound hole placement to enhance low note projection and resonance. The instrument houses 48 brass reeds across nickel-surfaced reed plates, providing the full chromatic range with consistent response throughout all registers.
