Harrison 500 Series 32C Preamp Module

The legendary Harrison sound that shaped countless platinum albums from the 70s and 80s is now available in the compact 32Cpre+ 500 Series microphone preamp. Drawing inspiration from the iconic Harrison 3232 and 32Classic studio consoles, this transformer-coupled preamp brings the warm, rich tone that helped create albums for Michael Jackson, Led Zeppelin, Queen, and ABBA directly to your rack.

The 32Cpre+ provides +20 to +70 dB of smooth gain, handling everything from delicate ribbon microphones to high-output sources with ease. The front panel features a convenient combo XLR with ¼” jack connector, allowing direct connection of microphones or instruments without accessing the rear of your 500 Series rack. Essential controls include 180° phase reverse, 48V phantom power, -20dB pad, and high-impedance switching.

True to Harrison’s heritage, the 32Cpre+ includes the renowned LP/HP filters found in the original 3232 and current 32Classic consoles. These musical 12dB/octave slope filters feature a characterful 3dB resonant peak on the high-pass section, with ranges spanning 25Hz–3.1kHz for high-pass and 160Hz–20kHz for low-pass filtering.

At the heart of this preamp lies the Jensen JT-MB-CPCA transformer, creating the signature Harrison sound with full low-end response, open midrange, and naturally smooth highs. The gentle frequency spectrum roll-off and subtle phase characteristics of the 1:1 ratio transformer produce a sweetness that works beautifully across any source material, continuing the legacy trusted by engineers like Bruce Swedien, Roger Nichols, and Reinhold Mack.
