Guild's Surfliner Deluxe is a solidbody electric rooted in vintage guitar aesthetics and contemporary playability. The offset design draws on Guild's iconic heritage whilst the lightweight poplar body and gloss evergreen metallic finish deliver classic styling with modern stability. A roasted maple neck—Guild's first—offers dark, aged character and structural rigidity, paired with a bound rosewood fingerboard and block inlays across a satin-finished C-shaped 25.5" scale.
The pickup configuration blends vintage warmth with chiming clarity: a bridge HB-2 humbucker with Alnico II magnets sits alongside two DeArmond Aerosonic single-coils at middle and neck positions, routed through a 5-way blade switch for seamless tonal selection. The Guild Floating Vibrato Tailpiece enables subtle flutter to deep swell effects via a nylon insert and easily adjusted tension screw, delivering responsive modulation without sacrificing tuning stability or introducing unwanted noise in the signal chain.
