The Guild Surfliner Deluxe HSS Electric Guitar delivers vintage offset aesthetics with contemporary California styling in a Black Metallic finish. This solid body electric features Guild's first roasted maple neck, heat-treated for enhanced stability and a dark aged appearance. The HSS pickup configuration pairs two DeArmond Aerosonic single coils with a Guild HB-2 humbucker loaded with Alnico II magnets, recreating the warm, rich tones of classic Guild humbuckers while maintaining modern clarity and response across the frequency spectrum.
The bolt-on roasted maple neck is shaped to a comfortable C profile with a 25.5–inch scale length, finished in satin for smooth movement up the bound rosewood fingerboard with block inlays. A traditional 5-way blade switch provides quick access to five distinct tonal voices, from the neck single coil's warm jazz tones through hum-cancelling middle positions to the HB-2's powerful bridge voicing with tight lows and sparkling highs. The Guild Floating Vibrato Tailpiece (GFVT) features an embossed G logo, nylon insert, and accessible tension screw for controlled vibrato effects ranging from subtle modulation to deep pitch sweeps.
The lightweight poplar body combines vintage offset contours with a gloss Black Metallic finish and matching headstock. The HB-2 humbucker delivers bold midrange with extended high-frequency sparkle that remains articulate under gain, while the DeArmond Aerosonic pickups provide authentic single-coil chime and quack in positions two and four. The bound fingerboard and block inlays complement the roasted maple's darker wood grain, creating visual continuity across the instrument. The GFVT's adjustable tension system allows players to dial in bar resistance from loose flutter to firm control.
