Hand-built in Ridgeland, South Carolina since the mid-1980s, this USA Custom snare represents nearly four decades of American drum making brought into a single, focused model. The Ridgeland celebrates the artisans who've shaped Gretsch's reputation with a seriously beefy shell: nine plies of maple, gum and poplar laminated to nearly half an inch thick, wrapped in Gloss Ebony lacquer. That hybrid bearing edge–a 30º Gretsch profile blended with a vintage Broadkaster-style roundover–delivers warm, full-bodied response with real bite on the attack.
The 14 x 5 inch shell ships with 4mm die-cast counter hoops, the dependable Lightning throw-off, 20-strand snare wires and factory-fitted Gretsch Permatone heads. Every drum carries an inside label signed by master builder Paul Cooper, marking its origin and authenticity. Ridgeland snares can be ordered in any Nitron, Satin or Gloss Lacquer colour from the USA Custom palette, making it straightforward to match existing kits or pursue a completely custom aesthetic. Build quality mirrors the full USA Custom standard, ensuring long-term durability on the road and in the studio.
