Gravity's GMS2WP is a cast–iron weight plate engineered to anchor round–base microphone stands with genuine mechanical stability. The 2.3 kg disc slots into Gravity's patented VARI–WEIGHT® system, a modular approach to stand ballast that locks down mic placement during recording or live work without requiring permanent modifications to the stand itself.
Manufactured from powder–coated cast iron, the plate measures 210 mm in diameter and weighs 2.3 kg, delivering material mass where it counts. The compact footprint and finished surface resist oxidation in humid studio or venue environments. Installation is straightforward—simply insert the weight disc into compatible Gravity stands with round bases, then adjust tension as needed. Note that the stand base itself must be sourced separately; this unit is the ballast component only.
The VARI–WEIGHT system eliminates the bulk of traditional counterweight designs whilst preserving portability during transport. Guitarists recording vocals or engineers setting up multi–mic chains appreciate the controlled coupling it provides, reducing stand drift that can shift mic positioning across takes or performance segments.
