Gibson revived the Victory after decades away, answering guitarist demand for an 80s design that balanced unconventional aesthetics with serious playability. This iteration respects the original's character whilst introducing refinements: a contoured body that sits more naturally, improved weight distribution, and the distinctive Explorer® headstock. The 25.5" scale mahogany neck carries an ebony fretboard with compound radius geometry and SlimTaper® profile, crowned with 24 medium jumbo frets for smooth position shifts across the board.
Construction centres on a mahogany body topped with AA figured maple, finished in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer. Hardware runs Tune-O-Matic® bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece–proven anchors for sustain and tuning stability. The pickup configuration uses two 80s Tribute humbuckers wired with push–pull master volume and tone controls enabling coil–split functionality and inner–outer coil selection when split. A three–way pickup selector rounds out the signal path, delivering humbucking and single–coil tonal variety through intuitive controls. A hardshell case ships included.
