Gibson SJ-200 Elegant Koa (Honey Burst) inc Hard Case

The Gibson SJ-200 Elegant Koa delivers the commanding presence and tonal authority of the legendary King of the Flat-Tops, now built with figured koa back and sides paired to a AAA Sitka spruce top. Koa brings striking visual grain and a lively response that balances maple's high-end clarity with warmth and complexity that deepens as the timber opens up. A three-rope marquetry strip runs down the centre of the koa back, while the tortoiseshell pickguard features abalone dot inlays and a silverfoil stamp that shifts iridescence under stage lights.

The mahogany neck is carved to a Round profile and fitted with a bound rosewood fretboard carrying 20 frets and graduated crown inlays in abalone. Gold-plated Grover® Rotomatic® tuners handle tuning stability, while the TUSQ® nut, saddle, and bridge pins ensure clear transfer of string energy to the rosewood two-bar moustache bridge. L.R. Baggs™ Anthem electronics combine an under-saddle Element pickup with an internal microphone and preamp, with volume, mix, phase, and battery check controls positioned discreetly at the soundhole edge. Scale length sits at 647.7 mm.

Since 1937, the SJ-200 has appeared on stages and recordings across country, folk, and rock, prized for bold projection and unmistakable visual impact. This Elegant Koa variant extends that lineage with premium appointments and koa's distinct tonal richness, offering an instrument that commands attention in the studio or onstage. A Gibson Custom hardshell case is included for secure transport and storage.
