Born from the ashes of the legendary Les Paul's hiatus in 1961, the SG Standard '61 emerged as Gibson's revolutionary “solid guitar” design that would go on to define the sound of countless musicians across decades and musical styles.

This faithful recreation captures the essence of the original with its slim taper mahogany neck paired with a bound rosewood fingerboard, providing the comfortable playability that made the SG a favourite among players. The mahogany body showcases the distinctive deeply sculpted body scarfing that gives the SG its iconic silhouette, complete with the classic 5-ply teardrop pickguard and accessible 22nd-fret neck joint.

The guitar's sonic character comes courtesy of the 61R and 61T humbuckers, which provide that unmistakable classic voice enhanced with additional power and top-end clarity. Premium components throughout include nickel plated hardware featuring the time-tested Tune-O-Matic bridge system and traditional keystone tuners, while the electronics utilise audio taper potentiometers and orange drop capacitors for optimal tone shaping.
