Gibson RD Custom (Ebony) inc Hardcase

The Gibson RD Custom makes its debut as the first Custom Shop-built RD model to join Gibson's core lineup, bringing with it a legacy that spans over four decades. Originally launched in 1977, the RD has maintained its status as a cult classic, drawing inspiration from both the Explorer™ and Firebird™ designs to create something truly distinctive. This unique aesthetic has attracted guitarists across multiple genres, establishing the RD as an instrument that stands apart from conventional designs.

What sets the RD Custom apart is its 25.5" scale length – the first solid body core model from Gibson Custom to feature this specification. The classic RD body shape includes thoughtful design elements like a rear tummy cut that enhances playing comfort during extended sessions. This combination of longer scale length and ergonomic shaping makes it particularly well-suited for players who favour drop tunings or simply prefer the feel and response of an extended scale.

The RD Custom's curvaceous and elegant design ensures you'll make a statement on any stage or in any studio setting. Its distinctive appearance, paired with the superior craftsmanship expected from Gibson's Custom Shop, creates an instrument that's both visually striking and professionally capable. A Custom Shop hard-shell case is included to protect your investment.
