Award-winning artist Margo Price has collaborated with Gibson Custom to create a signature acoustic guitar that captures the essence of her musical journey and deep connection to nature. The Margo Price J-45 draws inspiration from her beloved mid-60s J-45, which she describes as “my main baby; my guitar I play all the time,” combining vintage aesthetics with contemporary performance capabilities.

This signature model features a slightly thinner mahogany body topped with red spruce and traditional hand-scalloped advanced X-bracing for optimal tone projection. The mahogany neck sports a comfortable Rounded profile paired with a rosewood fingerboard, whilst Grover® strap tuners with white buttons maintain precise tuning stability. Premium appointments include bone nut and saddle, TUSQ® bridge pins for enhanced resonance, and L.R. Baggs Element VTC electronics that make it studio and stage ready straight from its included hardshell case.

The guitar’s most striking feature is the distinctive double 50s-style pickguards adorned with red-tailed hawk imagery, reflecting Margo’s personal connection to these majestic birds. She explains that red-tailed hawks symbolise strength and perseverance in her life, appearing during pivotal moments as spiritual messengers. The red colouring represents love, passion, and heart-centred emotions, whilst the white-tipped feathers add a spiritual dimension that Margo hopes will inspire players to find strength in vulnerability and forge deeper connections with their audience.
