Marcus King, the acclaimed American singer-songwriter and guitarist from South Carolina, has worked closely with Gibson to create this tribute to his cherished 1962 ES-345 — the very instrument passed down through his musically gifted family that helped launch his career onto stages worldwide.

Originally crafted as a Custom Shop exclusive, this production model captures the essence of Marcus’s personal guitar while incorporating only the features he considers essential for his distinctive sound. The guitar features mono wiring, a pair of Custombucker humbucker™ pickups, and a fixed Vibrola™ tailpiece that provides enhanced tuning stability. A custom stud anchor cover designed specifically for Marcus King adds a personal touch to this already special instrument.

Built with the classic ES-345 specifications that have made this model legendary, the guitar boasts a 3-ply maple/poplar/maple body construction with a solid maple centre block for superior sustain and feedback resistance. The mahogany neck features a comfortable Rounded profile measuring .875” at the first fret and .975” at the 12th fret, topped with an Indian rosewood fretboard adorned with acrylic split parallelogram inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets. Premium appointments include gold hardware throughout, an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic™ bridge, Grover™ Rotomatic™ tuners with kidney buttons, and a Graph Tech™ nut for optimal performance. Finished in the timeless Sixties Cherry and supplied with a Gibson hard-shell case for protection.
