Gibson's L-00 has defined small-body acoustic design since 1932, and this left-handed Special edition continues that legacy with genuine craft built in Bozeman, Montana. The model pairs solid mahogany back and sides with a solid Sitka spruce top, scalloped X-braced for balanced tone and dynamic range. The distinctive narrow waist shape delivers focused, articulate response—lean bass that cuts clearly in a mix, making it particularly suited to fingerstyle and blues without sacrificing versatility across other genres.
Construction centres on a utile neck with Gibson's SlimTaper® profile attached via compound dovetail joint and hot hide glue, whilst the rosewood fretboard spans 628.65 mm with 19 frets and simple mother-of-pearl dots. A 43.815 mm nut width supports the 12" radius fingerboard. Hardware includes a rectangular rosewood bridge fitted with TUSQ® saddle and bridge pins, paired with chrome Grover® Mini Rotomatic® tuners for stable tuning. The satin nitrocellulose finish in Honey Burst resists fingerprints whilst the integrated L.R. Baggs® Element Bronze under-saddle pickup with soundhole-mounted volume control readies the instrument for stage or studio straight from the premium soft-shell case.
