Gibson Left-Hand Hummingbird Special Satin (Vintage Cherry Burst) inc Soft Case

Since its debut in 1960, the Gibson Hummingbird has earned its place as one of the most beloved acoustic guitars in music history, and now the Hummingbird Special brings this iconic instrument within reach of more players. Handcrafted by Gibson’s skilled acoustic luthiers in Bozeman, Montana, this USA–built model maintains the authentic Hummingbird character whilst offering exceptional value. The traditional square–shouldered body combines genuine solid mahogany back and sides with a solid Sitka spruce top, reinforced with Gibson’s time–tested scalloped X–bracing for that warm, balanced tone with outstanding dynamic range.

The concert depth body design is slightly thinner than the standard Hummingbird, creating a leaner bass response that cuts through any mix beautifully and provides enhanced playing comfort. Gibson’s compound dovetail neck joint, secured with hot hide glue, connects the utile neck to the body with traditional craftsmanship. The comfortable Round profile neck features a rosewood fretboard with 12" radius and the distinctive pearloid parallelogram inlays that make the Hummingbird instantly recognisable, complete with 20 standard frets.

Quality appointments include a traditional belly–up rosewood bridge with TUSQ saddle, TUSQ nut and bridge pins, plus reliable Grover Rotomatic tuners for stable tuning performance. The simplified version of the famous Hummingbird pickguard graphics maintains the model’s visual appeal, whilst the satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish is available in Satin Vintage Cherry Sunburst and Satin Wine Red. Ready for stage and studio use, the guitar comes fitted with an L.R. Baggs Element Bronze under–saddle piezo pickup system featuring an active preamp with soundhole–mounted volume control, all housed in a premium soft shell case.
