Gibson Hummingbird Special (Natural Satin) inc Soft-Shell Case

The Gibson Hummingbird has defined the dreadnought acoustic landscape since 1960, and the Hummingbird Special brings that legacy into reach without compromise. Hand–built in Bozeman, Montana by Gibson's acoustic specialists, this model features a solid Sitka spruce top with traditional scalloped X–bracing paired to genuine solid mahogany back and sides. The square–shouldered body delivers warm, balanced tone with dynamic range suited across genres, whilst the concert–depth profile – slightly thinner than the Standard – tightens the bass response and improves playability.

The utile neck employs a compound dovetail joint secured with hot hide glue, supporting a comfortable round profile rosewood fretboard with 12" radius and pearloid parallelogram inlays across 20 frets. Scale length measures 628.65 mm with a 43.815 mm nut width. Hardware includes a traditional belly–up rosewood bridge with TUSQ® saddle, nut, and bridge pins, whilst Grover® Rotomatic® tuners ensure tuning stability. The satin nitrocellulose finish comes in Natural, paired with an L.R. Baggs® Element Bronze under–saddle piezo pickup and active preamp with soundhole–mounted volume control for immediate stage and studio deployment.

Single–ply cream binding frames the top and back, whilst the simplified Hummingbird pickguard graphic maintains the model's visual signature. This configuration prioritises practical acoustics over aesthetic excess – tone and response matter more than ornament. The included premium soft–shell case protects the instrument during transport and storage.
