Gibson's meticulous year-long study of original vintage models has culminated in the Historic Reissue ES-335, a guitar that captures the essence of the legendary Golden Era with unprecedented accuracy. The expert craftspeople at Gibson Custom Shop have painstakingly recreated every contour, profile, inlay and colour found on priceless vintage ES™ models, resulting in magnificent detail that honours the original designs.
The 1961 Reissue models showcase the classic features that made these guitars legendary, including rounded cutaways and SlimTaper™ neck profiles that have been precisely scanned from original examples. Authentic dot inlays and vintage-replica parts complete the faithful recreation, ensuring every element stays true to the original specifications.
What sets this reissue apart is the Ultra Light Ageing treatment by the skilled artisans of the Murphy Lab. This specialised finish process, combined with lightly aged hardware, simulates decades of gentle play wear to give each guitar the distinctive character, vibe, and feel of an authentic Golden Era original.
