The RedNet R1 redefines professional audio monitoring with unprecedented flexibility and control for today's demanding studio environments. This advanced monitoring controller allows professionals to mix and route inputs from eight channels (selected from 32 possible sources) to up to 12 monitor output channels, supporting formats from mono through to 7.1.4 surround. The unit accommodates common setups including Dolby Atmos® and other immersive audio workflows, whilst also allowing completely custom configurations for bespoke speaker arrangements.
Built to handle the complexity of modern audio ecosystems, the R1 seamlessly integrates with Pro Tools™ | HD and other DAWs, analogue inputs and outputs, ADAT and S/PDIF connections, plus entire Dante® audio networks. Audio can be switched and summed across platforms simultaneously and interchangeably. The top-panel controls provide essential functions including level adjustment, reference level preset selection, dim, mute and various solo modes, plus an A/B switch for monitoring presets and up to four fold-down presets for quick downmix checking.
Communication capabilities are comprehensive, featuring Dante-enabled talkback with an internal mic preamp for external talkback microphones, built-in microphone and high-powered headphone output. Up to four talkback destination groups are available when paired with Red interfaces, whilst other Dante devices support a single talkback group. Two LCDs provide highly accurate level metering for outputs, sources and headphone outputs, along with visual menu navigation cues.
Setup and configuration are streamlined through RedNet Control software, handling both simple and complex monitoring scenarios. Additional features include a quarter-inch jack socket for footswitch control of talkback management and LFE muting functions. Power options include Ethernet via PoE standard to reduce cabling complexity, or the supplied DC power supply for maximum installation flexibility.
