The Player II Modified Active Jazz Bass® V represents Fender®'s commitment to pushing the boundaries of what a five–string bass can achieve. This versatile instrument combines traditional Jazz Bass® DNA with contemporary enhancements designed for the modern bassist. The alder body provides a rich, balanced tonal foundation, whilst the Modern "C" maple neck features a satin urethane finish that ensures smooth playability across all registers.
At the heart of this bass lies the newly designed active preamp system, complete with an active/passive mini toggle switch and comprehensive three–band EQ. The Player II Noiseless™ Jazz Bass® V pickups maintain that signature growl and articulation whilst eliminating unwanted noise interference. Players can shape their tone with precision, from deep, thunderous lows to crisp, cutting highs.
The hardware specifications reflect serious attention to performance and reliability. A Fender HiMass™ bridge with chrome–plated zinc saddles maximises resonance and sustain, whilst the five–saddle design provides enhanced stability for the low B string. The 9.5"–radius rosewood or one–piece maple fingerboard features rolled edges and 20 medium jumbo frets, complemented by lightweight tapered–shaft tuning machines and a TUSQ® nut for rock–solid tuning accuracy.
