The Fender Made in Japan Junior Collection Jazz Bass® in Satin Shell Pink addresses a specific need: genuine Fender tone and build quality in a scaled–down platform that reduces physical strain without sacrificing sonic character. Its 30–inch scale length and compact basswood body—approximately 94% the size of a standard Jazz Bass®—make it easier to fret notes and reduce finger fatigue, while the new body cavity design shaves weight considerably. This isn't a toy or a travel bass; it's a fully realised instrument with Fender's Japanese manufacturing standards and a gig bag included.
Two Junior Collection Modified Single Coil Jazz Bass® pickups deliver the familiar scooped midrange and rich harmonic content expected from this pickup configuration, controlled via two volume knobs and a master tone. The maple neck features a Modern C profile, 9.5–inch fingerboard radius, and 19 narrow tall frets on a maple fingerboard with a satin urethane finish. A bone nut measuring 1.5 inches wide, vintage–style tuning machines, and a 4–saddle vintage–style bridge handle intonation and tuning stability. Nickel plated steel strings gauged .045–.105 come factory–installed, and the gloss polyester finish in Satin Shell Pink gives the instrument a distinctive appearance.
