The Player II Modified Active Jazz Bass® V represents Fender®'s commitment to pushing the boundaries of what a five–string bass can achieve. This versatile instrument combines traditional Jazz Bass® DNA with contemporary enhancements that cater to the modern bassist's demands. Built around an alder body that provides rich, balanced tones, the bass features a Modern "C" maple neck with satin urethane finish for smooth playability, complemented by a 9.5"–radius maple fingerboard with rolled edges and 20 medium jumbo frets.
At the heart of this instrument lies the Player II Noiseless™ Jazz Bass® V pickup system, which maintains the signature growl and articulation whilst eliminating unwanted noise. The newly designed active preamp stands out with its active/passive mini toggle switch and comprehensive three–band EQ, allowing precise tonal shaping from deep lows through to crisp highs. This electronic versatility ensures the bass adapts seamlessly across different musical styles and playing situations.
Enhanced hardware appointments include the Fender HiMass™ bridge with chrome–plated zinc saddles, specifically engineered for improved tuning stability and sustain. The five–saddle design provides additional stability for the low B string, whilst lightweight tapered–shaft tuning machines and TUSQ® nut work together to maintain rock–solid tuning accuracy. Available in a range of bold new finishes, the Player II Modified Active Jazz Bass® V represents a high–performance evolution of this iconic instrument.
