The Fender Custom Shop has recreated a rare slice of Telecaster® history with their 2024 release of the 1959 Telecaster® Journeyman Relic®. This instrument faithfully captures the distinctive appointments that were only available during a brief window in Tele® production over sixty years ago. The two-piece select ash body features authentic Journeyman Relic® flashcoat lacquer finishes available in three period-correct colours: Natural Blonde, Aged White Blonde, and Faded Aged Three-Colour Sunburst.
The guitar’s one-piece rift sawn maple neck pairs beautifully with a single ply parchment pickguard to complete its timeless aesthetic. Under the hood, Custom Shop hand-wound Texas Special™ pickups combined with Fat ‘50s wiring ensure this Telecaster® sounds as authentic as it looks, producing lively, responsive tones with the full-range character that defines classic Tele® sound.
Premium appointments include a Large “C” neck back-shape, 9.5” radius fingerboard with 21 narrow tall (6105) frets, traditional 3-way switching, and a top-load/strings-through-body bridge fitted with threaded steel saddles. Vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut, wing string tree, deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity complete this exceptional package.
