Step back in time to the golden era of bass guitar innovation with the Fender® American Vintage II 1960 Precision Bass, a meticulously crafted tribute to the revolutionary designs that shaped musical history. This remarkable instrument captures the essence of authentic Fender craftsmanship through period–accurate construction, featuring premium finishes and year–specific pickups that have been carefully voiced to match the original specifications.
The late 1950s through early 1960s marked a pivotal moment in Precision Bass® development, representing a watershed period that introduced many appointments now synonymous with the P–Bass®. By 1960, the design had moved beyond its earlier Telecaster® influences, adopting a Strat®–style headstock shape, comfort contours, pickguard–mounted electronics, and a 4–saddle bridge. Finished in classic 3–Colour Sunburst and topped with a distinctive 4–ply tortoiseshell pickguard, this model established a refined and enduring aesthetic.
Built with a premium alder body and Pure Vintage ‘60 Split–Coil P–Bass pickup, this instrument features a substantial “C” shape hard rock maple neck paired with a 7.25” radius slab rosewood fingerboard. The American Vintage II 1960 Precision Bass faithfully reproduces the quintessential tone and feel that made the original a legend, representing Fender electrics in their purest form with unmatched quality down to the last screw.
