Fender's American Vintage II series reconstructs the sonic and structural DNA of instruments that reshaped electric guitar's trajectory. The 1951 Telecaster® stands as the archetype: released after a naming dispute forced the Broadcaster®'s redesignation, it became the first mass-market solid–body electric. Built from ash with period–correct hardware, satin–nitrocellulose neck finish, and Custom Shop Texas Special™ single–coil pickups, this black example arrives in a vintage–style tweed case and captures authentic early–1950s Fender construction philosophy.

The neck comprises 3A flame maple (9.5” radius, 21 medium–jumbo frets, 25.5” scale length) with a bone nut measuring 1.650” wide and an oval “C” profile. Four–bolt construction and vintage–style butt–adjust truss rod reflect original specs. The Pure Vintage 3–saddle Telecast® bridge features brass barrel saddles; a 3–position blade switch routes dual Texas Special™ pickups through master volume and tone controls. Nickel/chrome hardware, black phenolic pickguard, and Fender USA nickel–plated strings (0.010–0.046) complete the setup.

Post–1951, the Telecaster® entered uninterrupted production, becoming the instrument of choice for studio session players, country musicians, and modern experimentalists alike. Its simple two–pickup architecture and tonal range–from articulate bridge snap to warm neck sustain–prove equally suited to recording, live performance, and solo composition work across multiple genres.
