EVH 5150 Iconic Series 80W Guitar Amplifier Head Ivory

The legendary EVH® 5150® Iconic® Series brings Eddie Van Halen’s groundbreaking tube tone within reach of more guitarists than ever before. This 80-watt head captures the searing sound and growling gain that defined Van Halen’s career, evolving from the highly regarded EVH 5150III® amplifiers but at a more accessible price point. Designed by respected amp engineer James Brown, the head is powered by four JJ 6L6 power tubes and voiced with two JJ ECC83S preamp tubes, providing serious firepower for modern players.

The amp’s two-channel design offers exceptional versatility with additional voicing options on each channel. The Green channel includes an overdrive button that takes you from pristine clean tones to increased gain, while the Red channel features a burn button that adds fierce crunch perfect for blistering lead work. Each channel has independent gain and volume controls for seamless level-matching when switching between clean and high-gain sounds.

Professional features include a channel two noise gate with quick attack that eliminates hiss while keeping staccato riffing articulate and crisp. The Boost control adds an extra 10dB of foot-switchable volume to help solos cut through any mix. Shared EQ controls (Low, Mid, High), global resonance and presence knobs, plus global reverb provide comprehensive tone shaping. Additional features include a two-button footswitch, effects loop, dual parallel speaker outputs, and a ¼ power switch for cranking the amp without disturbing the neighbours.

The head showcases distinctive EVH styling with your choice of Black or Ivory textured vinyl, brushed aluminium front panel, and black steel grille featuring silver and black 5150 and EVH logo badges. Vintage-style chicken-head knobs, red LED jewel indicator, and moulded black plastic handle complete the professional appearance. A speaker-emulated DI XLR with power amp mute provides accurate all-tube EVH tone for direct recording or PA use.
