EVH 5150 Iconic Series 80W Guitar Amplifier Head Black

Experience the legendary EVH sound that defined rock history with the 5150® Iconic® Series 80W Head, bringing Eddie Van Halen's signature tube tone within reach of every guitarist. This amplifier evolves from the celebrated EVH 5150III® series, capturing that searing sound and growling gain that made Eddie's playing so distinctive throughout his groundbreaking career. Designed by respected amp engineer James Brown, this 80-watt powerhouse runs on four JJ 6L6 power tubes with two JJ ECC83S preamp tubes, providing serious firepower for modern players.

The dual-channel design offers exceptional versatility with additional voicing options on each channel. The Green channel features an overdrive button that takes you from pristine clean tones to increased gain, whilst the Red channel's burn button adds that fiery crunch perfect for blistering lead work. Each channel maintains independent gain and volume controls for seamless level-matching when switching between clean and high-gain sounds.

Professional features include a quick-attack noise gate on channel two that suppresses hiss while keeping staccato riffing articulate and crisp. The foot-switchable Boost control adds another 10dB of volume - ideal for cutting through the mix during solos. Shared EQ controls (Low, Mid, High), global resonance and presence knobs, plus global reverb give you complete tonal control. Additional features include a two-button footswitch, effects loop, dual parallel speaker outputs, and a ¼ power switch for cranking the amp without disturbing the neighbours.

The head showcases sophisticated EVH styling with black textured vinyl covering, brushed aluminium front panel, and black steel grille featuring silver and black 5150 and EVH logo badges. Vintage-style chicken-head knobs, red LED jewel indicator, and moulded black plastic handle complete the professional appearance. A speaker-emulated DI XLR output with power amp mute provides authentic all-tube EVH tone for direct recording or PA use.
