The Evans Tri-Centre Extended Collar Conga drumhead is a synthetic alternative engineered to replicate the acoustic character of traditional animal skin whilst sidestepping durability and maintenance headaches. Evans manufactures these heads in the USA, applying their deep expertise in tension-film drumhead design to the conga market. The extended collar design fits larger-sized counter hoops found on LP® Giovanni models and Toca™ Professional rigs, making compatibility straightforward across popular hardware platforms.

Construction centres on two plies of 10mil film with a 2.25" weighted patch at the head's centre, a deliberate geometric choice that minimises unwanted overtones whilst anchoring the fundamental tone with added mass. The etched texture mimics the tactile feel of skin without the hygroscopic instability or conditioning demands. Sonically, the head delivers a bright, penetrating slap attack paired with a full, round low-end response–a tonal balance suited to both traditional conga playing and contemporary world-music applications where cut and clarity matter.

The extended collar sits flush with LP® Giovanni models featuring "Extended Collar" hoops (EC0975, EC110E, EC1175E, EC1250E designations), whilst the standard collar versions (EC1100, EC1175, EC1250) suit LP® Classic "Comfort Curve" and Toca™ "Easy Play" hoops. This specificity means matching head to hoop requires checking your drum's hardware generation before ordering.
