ESP LTD Javier Reyes V8 8-String Electric Guitar (Metallic Gold)

The LTD JRV-8 stands as a testament to the innovative vision of Javier Reyes, the respected guitarist from instrumental progressive metal trio Animals as Leaders. This extraordinary 8-string guitar features a 27" baritone scale and typically accommodates F#-B-E-A-D-G-B-E tuning, though its versatile design encourages creative exploration through alternative tuning configurations. The instrument combines traditional guitar aesthetics with groundbreaking functionality, making it a truly unique addition to any serious guitarist’s collection.

Built with bolt-on construction, the JRV-8 showcases an alder body paired with a five-piece maple/walnut neck featuring a thin flat contour for comfortable playability. The maple fingerboard is adorned with elegant double-bar abalone inlays across 22 extra-jumbo frets, while the inclusion of an 8-string double-locking Floyd Rose tremolo system sets this guitar apart as one of the few production models to offer such advanced hardware.

The guitar’s sonic capabilities are powered by a sophisticated H/S/S pickup configuration, headlined by the Fishman Fluence Signature Series 8-String Javier Reyes Classic Open Core bridge pickup. This innovative pickup offers three distinct voices via a mini-toggle switch: Voice 1 provides thick low end with midrange growl and aggressive upper mids, Voice 2 produces searing lead tones with organic treble and harmonics, while Voice 3 offers clear, open single coil character. The middle and neck positions feature Fishman Fluence Signature Series 8-String Javier Reyes Single Width pickups, capable of producing everything from vintage sweetness to muscular overwound punch. Professional appointments include LTD locking tuners, gold hardware, and an ESP deluxe hardshell case.
