Gary Holt's legendary status in thrash metal history spans decades, from co-founding Bay Area pioneers Exodus in 1981 to his role as Slayer's second guitarist during their final chapter. His LTD Signature Series GH-SV captures the raw aggression and precision that made him one of metal's most respected axemen, built around the distinctive ESP SV shape where one side of the V extends longer than the other for optimal playing comfort.
The guitar's construction centres on a 24.75" scale neck-thru-body design, combining a three-piece thin U-shaped mahogany neck with a mahogany body topped with maple. The striking black finish gets accented by multi-ply red binding across the body, neck, and headstock, complemented by red pickup covers and a special red scripted LTD logo that makes this instrument instantly recognisable on stage.
Performance features include a Macassar ebony fretboard with pearloid split block inlays and 22 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets for maximum playability. The electronics package pairs an EMG 89R in the neck positionwith reversed coils and push-pull splitting capabilityalongside an aggressive EMG 81 bridge pickup. A double-locking Floyd Rose 1000 tremolo system and Grover tuners complete the hardware specification, with an ESP deluxe hardshell case included for protection.
