The Epiphone Thunderbird '64 is a neck–through bass guitar modelled on Gibson's 1960s original, built to deliver the low–end punch and sustain that defined the design. The nine–ply mahogany and walnut construction runs through the body, anchoring two ProBucker 760 bass humbuckers that sit above 500K CTS potentiometers. The result is a bass with deep tone and solid tuning stability from the Graph Tech nut and 19:1 gear ratio Clover–button tuners.
Scale length is 863.6mm across 22 frets, with a 60s rounded bass neck profile in rosewood. The Ember Red finish sits on an okoume or sapelli mahogany body, paired with the iconic hot–stamped Thunderbird logo on a three–ply pickguard. Bridge and tailpiece are Epiphone vintage spec, designed to keep intonation tight across the range. The bass ships with a premium gig bag.
